Project sourcing here means lining up comparable replies from wire edm machine manufacturers. Each bidder should state furnish assumptions for material, thickness and finish, which dielectric treatment, consumables and inspection procedure sit inside the quoted battery limits, and whether installation, shipping, training and commissioning sit inside or outside the machine price. We do not score factories as certified or in-stock. Sinker EDM or milling cells belong on the same comparison sheet only when the brief actually includes them—those acceptance methods are not interchangeable with a submerged wire tank.
Service stage and responsibilities
Collect material grade, heat-treatment state, workpiece thickness, start-hole arrangement, required surface finish with measurement method, and whether taper or submerged cutting must match the same work envelope. If automatic threading is required, the brief asks manufacturers to demonstrate recovery after a wire break on the buyer’s geometry, not on a thin coupon. Public model pages may list XYZ travels and tank volume; that split is a question to copy, not a certificate from this desk.
Ask every bidder to list: generator; XYZ travels (mm/in); workpiece mass (kg/lb); wire diameter (mm); tank volume (L/gal); automatic threading; dielectric filtration and resin; installation; training; spare parts; shipping terms. Items left blank are treated as excluded. Connected load, three-phase supply and cooling water belong in the same table so plant contractors are not guessing. Throughput claims must name the material, thickness and skim-pass count—see the part-and-finish note.
After replies arrive, we place included and excluded rows next to each other. Finish-limited skim passes still need supplier confirmation on the intended workpiece. No percentage saving is published because this project has no matched total-cost evidence. The buyer chooses; we do not issue a purchase order. Continue on equipment options if the configuration is still a label rather than a specification.
